Felony A felony is a major crime for which the maximum imprisonment is more than one year in a state correctional institution. The court may also impose a fine. Felonies are classified into four categories: capital, 1st degree, 2nd degree, and 3rd degree. Statute of limitations The judgment formally pronounced by the court upon the defendant after conviction in a criminal prosecution, imposing the punishment to be inflicted. Removal, order of To send back; For example, an appellate court may remand a case to a lower court for retrial or for some change in disposition. In camera In a judge's chambers; in private. Dependent child A child who is homeless or without proper care through no fault of the parent, guardian, or custodian. Code A collection, compendium or revision of laws, rules and regulations enacted by the legislature, i.e., Utah Code Annotated. Calendar A court's list of cases for arraignment, hearing, trial or arguments. Testate One who has died leaving a will or one who has made a will.

	The mediation process may vary depending on the mediator. Generally, mediations commence with a general session with all parties, counsel and the mediator. At the general session, there will be a discussion of the case, the issues on appeal and other matters important to settlement. Then the mediator will meet separately with each party and their counsel in separate "caucuses." In these separate sessions, the mediator will seek to foster negotiations between the parties and develop agreement.
